Missing youth found dead on river banks in Odisha; family smells foul play   

Bolangir: After being missing for around 48 hours, the body of a 25-year-old youth was found on the banks of Suktel river at Durgapalli village in Bolangir district today.

It is alleged that the youth identified as Shrikant Nanda of Bargaon village under Puintala police limits was kidnapped and later killed by miscreants.

Reportedly, Shrikant, who works at a banana godown here, did not return to his house late on August 8 night. The next morning, his spectacles and shoes were found on road near Bargaon while his bike was found near Suktel bridge on Bolangir-Sambalpur State Highway after a few days. Later, his family members lodged a complaint with police.

After his body was recovered from the banks of Suktel river today morning, the Bolangir police along with a scientific team reached the spot for an investigation.

Meanwhile, Shrikant’s elder brother lodged a complaint at Puintala police station alleging that some miscreants killed him and later dumped his body in the river.
