Mohini Ekadashi is observed on the ekadashi during the Shukla Paksha in the Hindu month of ‘Vaisakha’. The day of Mohini Ekadashi, like all other ekadashis, is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

In Hindu mythology, Mohini is the name given to the disguised form of Lord Vishnu. The Lord appeared in this form on the ekadashi tithi.

Ekadashi Tithi Begins: May 11, 2022 7:31 PM.

Ekadashi Tithi Ends: May 12, 2022 6:52 PM.

Fast Breaking Time: May 13, 5:50 AM – May 13, 8:27 AM.

Rituals: Devotees observe strict fast on this day. The fasting continues till the sunrise of ‘Dwadashi’. It is believed that Mohini Ekadashi vrat should be broken by drinking milk the next day.

The vrat observer wakes up early in the morning on ekadashi day and takes bath with Til and Kush. The devotees keep vigil all night by singing bhajans and chanting mantras in praise of the Lord.

Those who are unable to keep strict fast can opt partial fasting by eating fruits, vegetables and milk products.
