Monsoon advances into north, south Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Couple of days after hitting coastal Odisha, the southwest monsoon has further advanced into some northern and southern districts of the state.

“The southwest monsoon has further advanced into some of the districts of South and North Odisha today. It has covered whole of the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khorda, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and also some portions of the adjoining districts of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore,” a bulletin of the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre said.

Conditions are likely to become favourable for further advancement of the monsoon into some more parts of Odisha after 3 to 4 days, it added.
