Monsoon session of Odisha Assembly begins

Bhubaneswar: The monsoon session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly began today with rich tributes being paid to departed leaders.

As the House assembled for the session, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik moved condolence motion over the demise of MLA Subal Sahu, former legislator Sura Sethi and martyr constable Laxmikant Jani.

The condolence motion was supported by Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra and Pradip Purohit of BJP following which the House observed a minute’s silence for the departed souls.

Speaker Pradip Kumar Amat then adjourned the House till 10.30 am tomorrow as a mark of respect to the late members of the assembly.
