Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance today arrested Susanta Kumar Sahoo, Inspector-In-Charge (IIC), Motu Police Station, Malkangiri over possession of unaccounted cash of Rs 2.8 lakh, which he could not account for satisfactorily.
The police official was yesterday intercepted by the sleuths of the anti-corruption agency at Khurda while he was heading towards his village Phulnakhara from Motu. The Vigilance officials later recovered the cash from his possession.
During house searches, a registered sale deed of value Rs 24,90,000 of plot at Phulnakhara purchased recently in the name of his wife and other incriminating material were recovered.
A case has been registered against Sahoo in this connection. He was being forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.

In this connection BBSR Vig PS Case No 26 dtd 22.9.21 u/s 7(a)/13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 PC Amd Act 2018 has been registered.
