Mumbai police arrest Odisha man for bank fraud

Bhubaneswar, Aug 30:

Mumbai Police today arrested a 31-year-old man from Odisha for his alleged involvement in cheating a private bank located in Marine drive area.

The accused, identified as Manoj Kumar Sahu of Brahmeswara Patna area under Badagada police limits in the city, was handed over to them by Badagada police here.

On receiving information from the Marine Drive police regarding the whereabouts of the accused, who had duped the HDFC bank of Rs 18 lakh during stint there as an employee, the police staff swung into action and nabbed Manoj from his residence (plot-number-II/A) located at Basant Vihar in Brahmeswara Patna area, Badagada police sources said today.

Later, the local police handed over the accused to the Marine Drive police, who left the city with the accused for Mumbai this evening. A case-104/14 has been registered by the Marine Drive police with charges under sections 420, 461, 467, 471 and 474 of IPC slapped against the accused, police sources added.
