MV Act: Police Commissioner nabs man for drunken driving

Bhubaneswar: In a crackdown on drunken driving, the Commissionerate Police yesterday arrested a person riding a four-wheeler in inebriated condition near Rasulgarh here last night.

Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi arrested the person identified as Kingsuk Sarkar, a resident of Atala under Balianta police limits in Khordha district.

Sources said the drunk man while heading towards Hanspal from Rasulgarh in his car last evening caught attention of the CP, who was travelling to Cuttack at that time. Sarangi later intercepted the vehicle and grilled him on the spot. The cop later found that Kingsuk was returning from a party and he was drunk.

Sarangi later handed him over to Mancheswar police for further action.
