‘My wife was beaten to death’, alleges Rourkela woman ASI’s husband

Rourkela: In an investigation into the death mystery of ASI Alisa Narmi Lugun in Rourkela, the deceased’s husband alleged that she was beaten to death during the clash.

“My wife was killed. She was beaten to death as I found her cheek swollen and she was profusely bleeding from the mouth,” alleged Lugun’s husband Sanjay Lakra today.

He said that he would lodge a complaint in this regard with the police.

He made it clear that he would not cooperate in conducting the post-mortem on the body of her deceased wife till he gets justice.

Alisa Narmi Lugun (30), an ASI of Udit Nagar Police Station in Rourkela, died under mysterious circumstances while on duty yesterday.

According to reports, Lugun rushed to the Ring Road area in Rourkela to restore the law and order in the wake of a group clash over a road mishap in the evening hours on Sunday.

She reportedly collapsed while trying to bring the situation under control. She was immediately taken to the Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital in Rourkela, where the doctors declared her brought dead.

However, police are yet to reveal the circumstances that led her to death.

Worth mentioning, the woman ASI was investigating the mysterious death of Rourkela Assistant Collector Sushmita Minz before the case was handed over to a DCP-rank officer a few days ago.
