Nabajouban darshan extended amid rush of devotees

Puri: The Nabajouban darshan of deities at the Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri was today extended till 11.30 pm in view of rush of devotees.

The sahana mela (free darshan) began by 3.30 pm and was scheduled to continue till 4.30 pm. However, it was later extended till 11.30 pm due to rush of devotees.

Thousands thronged Puri to have first glimpse of Chaturdhamurti (Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra along with Sudarshan) on the occasion of Nabajouban darshan.

After recuperating from illness due to holy bath on Snana Purnima, the deities are all set to reappear in their rejuvenated youthful form. The deities were under medication at the Anasara Ghara since June 17.
