Bhubaneswar, Nov 25:

Country’s leading alumina and aluminium manufacturer-cum-exporter National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), has bagged the EEPC (Engineering Export Promotion Council, Eastern Region)’s Gold Trophy, as top exporter in the league of large enterprises, for its outstanding performance during the year 2011-12.

During FY 2011-12, NALCO has achieved sales turnover of Rs.6927 crore, from which export earnings accounted for Rs.2569 crore.

The award has been presented to the Navratna PSU major at the 30th Regional Award Presentation Ceremony, organized by EEPC India (Eastern Region) at Kolkata on November 22.

Shri N. Pandab, Regional Manager (Eastern Region) received the award on behalf of the company from Shri Ravi Kapoor, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India, on the occasion.

It may be mentioned here that NALCO enjoys Premier Trading House status, and it is the first Indian aluminium company to be registered with London Metal Exchange, for its high quality products.
