NALCO employee dies inside plant in Odisha, family demands compensation

Angul: The authorities of National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) landed in trouble after an employee died inside the plant here this morning.

The deceased identified as Srikant Sahu, working as the Supervisor at NALCO’s Captive Power Plant (CPP) Ball mill, suddenly fell down for some reason inside plant at around 10.30 am.

Other employees, who were present on the spot, rushed him to the hospital run by the PSU, where the doctors declared him dead.

However, the cause of his death was unknown.

Following the incident, the family of deceased demanded the NALCO authorities a sum of Rs 15 lakh as compensation suspecting the death of Srikant as ‘unnatural’.

The situation was pacified after the authorities assured them to look into the matter.
