National Diagnostic Centre to be set up in Odisha

In the wake of rapid spread of both infectious and non-infectious diseases across Odisha, a branch of National Diagnostic Centre will be set up in the state to strengthen Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP).

Around Rs 10 crore will be spent for the project for which land selection process will begin soon, official sources said yesterday.

National Diagnostic Centre’s Additional Director Dr SK Jain discussed with Odisha Health Secretary Pramod Kumar Meherdha about the proposed project yesterday.

Notably, Odisha Health department had sent a proposal to the Centre about setting up a unit of National Diagnostic Centre in the State.

The proposed diagnostic centre will help in enhancing public health officers’ potentials to address the health related issues in the state.
