Bhubaneswar: Referring to the remarkable achievement of NASA scientist from Odisha Kailash Sahu, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today exhorted the newly appointed teachers of Adarsh Vidyalaya to build every student of the schools like the great scientist, who has made the state proud.

Addressing the teachers and principals of Adarsh Vidyalaya during orientation workshop held at Rabindra Mandap here today, Patnaik gave an example of senior scientist of NASA Kailash Sahu, who did an impossible job by discovering the weight of a remote star, 17 light years away, using gravity.

“Kailash Sahu is from a small village in Ganjam district. Education has not only made him travel across the world to the best institutes, but also to travel across galaxies, light years away,” the CM said while talking about significance of quality education.

He congratulated all 541 teachers and 30 principals, who were handed over the appointment letters today and asked them to build children, who can achieve success and make Odisha proud.

“Under your inspiration, next generation of Odisha will take their motherland to new heights. Many Kailash Sahus from amongst our children will challenge Einstein and Newton in the years to come,” Patnaik said.

As every parent wants best education for their children, Odisha government had promised to set up model schools in all 314 blocks of the State.

“I am happy that we have already opened 160 Adarsh Vidyalayas across the state, with more than 40,000 students studying there. These schools have been modelled on Kendriya Vidyalaya pattern, imparting high quality education to meritorious students at nominal costs,” he said.
