Naveen lauds Odisha Budget 2023-24

Bhubaneswar: The Budget proposal for 2023-24 financial year, tabled by Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari in the Assembly today, will take Odisha to new heights, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

“This Budget is of the people, by the people and for the people. It is people’s Budget,” added the Chief Minister.

Notably, the Finance Minister tabled a Budget proposal of Rs 2,30,000 lakh crore for 2023-24 fiscal in the Odisha Assembly today.

This Budget focuses on achieving rapid and inclusive growth through development of human resources, investment in physical and social infrastructure, healthcare for all, provision of social safety nets for the disadvantaged and vulnerable sections and empowerment of youth, women, STs, SCs, OBCs, minorities, persons with disability and senior citizens, said the Finance Minister in his speech.

The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government in Odisha has given importance to sectors like healthcare, drinking water, agriculture, communication, urban development, women empowerment, disaster risk management, education, SC/ST development and internal security in the Budget proposal for 2023-24 fiscal.

The government has also planned to launch several new initiatives including revolving fund for paddy procurement, Ama Hospital, Mission Shakti Scooter Yojana, coffee mission, Mukhyamantri Medhabi Chhatra Protsahan and Mukhyamantri Sampoorna Pushti Yojana in its Budget proposal.

This Budget is the last full-fledged budget of the BJD government in its fifth term in Odisha.
