Naveen seeks blessings of Lord Jagannath ahead of swearing-in

Puri: A day before of taking oath as Chief Minister of Odisha for the fifth time in a row, Naveen Patnaik visited Lord Jagannath’s temple in Odisha’s Puri for blessings of the state’s presiding deities.

Patnaik reached the 12th century shrine this evening and spent around 10 minutes in the temple complex. After offering prayers at the main temple, Patnaik sought blessings of ‘Maa Bimala’ and ‘Maha Laxmi’.

“I came to visit Lord Jagannath to offer prayers for the people of Odisha before I take oath as chief minister tomorrow in Bhubaneswar,” Patnaik told reporters in front of the temple.

To mark the auspicious visit,

Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Chief PK Mohapatra presented a Khandua Pata.

Besides Naveen, several newly elected BJD MLAs have also visited the temple to seek blessings of the Lord Jagannath.

The 73-year-old leader will take oath for a record fifth term as the Chief Minister of Odisha on Wednesday.

The BJD bagged 112 seats in the 146-member Assembly.
