Nayagarh quadruple murder: Odisha CB arrests four accused

The Crime Branch of Odisha police today arrested four persons accused in the sensational murder of four members of a family at Shastri Nagar in Chandpur under Ranpur police limits in Nayagarh district in 2014.

The accused were arrested from Ganjam and Jajpur, sources said. While five persons were allegedly involved in the murder, one of them has died.

The gruesome incident had taken place on September 6, 2014. Four persons of the family were found dead inside their house in Chandpur here. The incident came to light when Sarat Patra, working in a hotel in Bhubaneswar, arrived at his house in the evening and found it locked from outside.

After succeeding to enter the house through the back door, he found his father Kasinath, wife Suchitra, son Niti Sagar and daughter Sagarika lying on the blood-soaked floor.

While the assailants had slit open the throat of Kasinath and Suchitra, the two children had been strangulated.
