New exam pattern for CBSE Class 10 & 12; check details
Bhubaneswar: Aiming at development of critical thinking and better reasoning abilities in students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced to have introduced changes in the examination pattern for Class 10 and 12 from 2019-20 academic session.
The new exam pattern will contain a reduced number of questions, more internal choices, more objective type questions, less subjective type questions and introduction of internal assessment in all subjects. Union Human Resources Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that the changes were made to discourage rote learning process in the students.
According to the question pattern elaborated by Pokhriyal, 33% of the questions will be internal choices, 25% will be one-mark subjective type questions and subjects carrying no practical assessments will carry 20 % marks for internal assessment.
This new pattern of examination will be followed for classes 10 and 12 from 2020.
