New Interstate Bus Terminal in Odisha capital to be ready by mid 2022

Bhubaneswar: The much-awaited new Interstate Bus Terminal (ISBT) in Bhubaneswar will be ready by mid of 2022.

It was revealed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik after he reviewed the project at Baramunda in Bhubaneswar today.

The cost of the project is estimated to be around Rs 180 crore and is expected to be completed in 18 months.

“I am sure, it will be a new landmark in Bhubaneswar,” the CM told media after reviewing the project.

In September 2019, the State Cabinet had approved the proposal upgrade the bus stand at Baramunda into a state-of-art interstate bus terminal with an investment of Rs 160 crore.

Currently, the bus stand at Baramunda is functioning as the biggest bus terminal in the city with an area of 15.5 acres. Approximately, 800 buses are operating from the terminal. The proposed design can accommodate approximately 2,000 buses on daily basis.
