New Yeti app is a personalised Yelp

Los Angeles, July 5 :

The team behind At The Pool has launched Yeti, a new mobile application that can connect the user with information about the place where he or she happens to be at any given time, something of a personalised version of the online urban guide and business review site Yelp, and which borrows its design from Tinder.

The application, available for Apple devices, is intended to make a tourist’s life and interaction with locals easier by functioning as a thematic forum in which all users can ask questions and provide answers.yeti-app-iphone

“It’s an attempt to discover the unknown, to find your inner yeti wherever you travel,” David Zimmerman, head of business development of At The Pool, told Efe.

Yeti is an evolution of the At The Pool application, which debuted in Apple’s App Store in late 2013 as a social network for putting people in contact with one another in real life to serve their common interests.

Despite its promising start – it was the most popular social application following its launch – its creators soon realised it was not getting the use they had hoped for.

“It sounded like a good idea in theory, but the truth is that people don’t want something like that as a way to meet other people. For that they prefer a more traditional approach, like a mutual friend introducing them, something that takes place naturally,” Zimmerman said.
