Newborn baby boy rescued from Prasanti Express at Khurda Station

Bhubaneswar: An abandoned newborn baby boy was rescued from Prasanti Express at Khurda Road station, today.

According to reports, some passengers of the train spotted the newborn in one of the general compartments and informed the Railway Protection Force (RPF).

The RPF personnel rescued the baby and contacted the Khurda Child Welfare Committee. The newborn was later handed over to Childline.

Preliminary probe reveled that a woman had delivered the baby and abandoned him in the train, last night.

A case has been registered in this connection while further probe by the RPF was underway.
