Newborn boy found floating in canal in Odisha’s Sambalpur

Sambalpur, Apr 8:
A newborn boy was found floating in a canal near Gopalapali in Odisha’s Sambalpur district today.

The infant, being kept on a basket, was spotted floating in the water body by locals, reports said.
They rescued the baby in a critical condition and admitted him to Sambalpur Sadar Hospital.
The newborn is undergoing treatment at Sick Newborn Care Units (SNCU) of the hospital, sources said.
However, the infant died at the government-run facility while undergoing treatment.
