Rescued Odisha newborn shifted to Sishu Bhawan

Bhubaneswar, Oct 27:

A newborn baby  rescued in a critical condition from a garbage bin in Bhubaneswar, Odisha has been shifted to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Postgraduate Institute of Paediatrics better known as  Sishu Bhawan in Cuttack and admitted to ICU as her condition deteriorates.

newborn garbage bbsrThe neonate was recovered by BPO workers belonging to Tatwa Technologies from a garbage dump in unit- VIII near CBI office, yesterday. They informed police and got the baby admitted to hospital.

The salvaged baby was admitted to Capital Hospital in a serious condition. The baby girl is bruised all over her body and is suffering from fits.

No one had come forward to claim the baby and she had been handed over to child line till her family is traced, sources added.

One of the good samaritans who saved the girl said, “The girl was bleeding and was in a very serious condition. If proper treatment would have been not given immediately she would have succumbed to her injuries.”

Another BPO worker said, “The baby was lying there but nobody was coming forward to rescue the infant.”
