Newlywed woman found dead in Balangir; husband detained

Balangir: A newly married woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances last night at Gohirapadar village under Bangomunda police limits  in Balangir District.

The deceased has been identified as Madhu Bag of Sambalpur district. She had married Biranchi Bhatra, a resident of Gohirapadar village of Balangir district, four months ago.

According to reports, Madhu and Biranchi were in love with each other while they were staying in Raipur in Chhatisgarh. Following their marriage, the duo was staying at Biranchi’s native place.

Sources said that all was not well between them as the couple was indulged in scuffle many a time.

However, the reason of death the woman is yet to ascertained.

On receiving information, police reached the spot and detained Biranchi for interrogation in the incident.

Biranchi has also confessed to police that there was rift between them.

The body has been sent for post-mortem.  A probe has been initiated into the matter.  The autopsy report will reveal whether the woman hanged herself or it was a murder.

The family of the deceased will be informed about the incident to get more information from them to crack the mystery, police said.
