Nine child workers rescued in Odisha’s Puri

Puri, Oct 27:

Baseli Sahi police in Odisha’s Puri town rescued nine minor boys yesterday while they were being trafficked to Tamil Nadu to work as child labourers in different factories there.

Police have arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in the trafficking of the minor boys.

While all the minor boys hail from Brahmagiri area of Puri district, they have been handed over to their families by the Child Welfare Committee after keeping them at a shelter home, sources said. All the rescued minor boys were students, the sources added.

Police have registered a case in this connection and investigating the matter.
