No Covid vaccination session in Odisha on Sundays

Bhubaneswar: There will be no vaccination sessions on Sundays. In this regard, Additional Chief Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department wrote to the District Collectors, Municipal Commissioners, CDMOs and PHOs today.

The letter stated no sessions shall be planned on Sundays and all Covid vaccination centres (CVCs) must be properly sanitized on Sundays to reduce the transmission of Covid-19 infection.

“During the lockdown and shutdown period, Covid-19 vaccination sessions shall be continued uninterruptedly in all districts from Monday to Saturday (including Gazetted holidays) subject to availability of vaccines.,” it read.

The CVC-wise due list of second dose beneficiaries shall be prepared by districts and health team shall mobilize them through telephonic contact to CVC to vaccinate them on priority, the letter asked.

Worth mentioning, in the interest of public health and containment of spread of Covid-19 in the State, the government has decided to impose lockdown throughout the State with effect from May 5 (5AM)-19 (5PM), 2021.

However, there shall be complete shutdown on weekends starting from 6 PM on Fridays till 8 AM on Mondays.
