No DJ during processions in Odisha’s Bhadrak: SP

Bhadrak: Bhadrak SP Battula Gangadhar has ordered for banning DJ vehicles during processions in the district.

This apart, 11 DJ vehicles have been detained by the district police.

The move of the police comes a couple of days after Inspector-in-charge of Basudevpur police station here sustained critical injuries in an attack by some residents of Lunga village in the area.

A DJ vehicle had hit a minor girl at Lunga village on June 19 evening during a procession. The father of the girl lodged a complaint with Basudevpur police in this regard following which Basudevpur police station IIC and three policemen reached the spot.

While the cops were holding discussion with the villagers over the issue, some of them started thrashing the IIC besides pelting stones at him. The locals also damaged a police van.
