Bhubaneswar: There is no provision of financial compensation in the case of death due to dengue under the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, informed Health Minister Niranjan Pujari in the Odisha Assembly on Monday.

Pujari was replying to a question by MLA Mohammed Moquim.

Out of 77,001 blood samples tested between 1 January and 14 September, 6,068 were found to be positive for dengue, the minister said.

In order to demolish mosquito breeding sites, around 49,000 ASHA workers have received training while 190 volunteers were roped in for five municipal corporations in the state, he added.
