Normal monsoon predicted in Odisha this year

Bhubaneswar, April 2: 

This year the monsoon in Odisha will be normal, according to weather experts. There will be heavy rains in June and in the other three months the state will receive normal rains, according to survey by Weather risk management services, a private Gurgaon based organisation.

The head of the organization, Kanti Prasad, has said that there will be normal monsoon all over the country. Exceptions being North East, Maharashtra and Rajasthan which will have less than normal monsoon.

Last year the monsoon was 14 per cent less, while in 2014-15 it was 11 per cent deficient in India.  The weather prediction has been done by data received from USA based  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Prasad said.

Government organisation Indian Meteorological Department will come out with its monsoon prediction in the last week of April.
