Not playing for titles, says Debashis Das

Odisha’s top rated chess player International Master Debashis Das on Wednesday said he is not participating in tournaments to win titles.


“I want to be remembered by the chess fraternity, not for my ranking or titles but as a dedicated player”‘ he said at a felicitation ceremony here on Wednesday evening organized by the Odisha State Chess Association.

Das said his goal is to reach 2650 rating points.

“I am confident of getting three points to reach the Elo rating in the National B Chess Tournament in at Bhopal beginning on October 12”, the chess star said.

ODCA secretary Vivek Tibarewal, Manoj Panigrahi and Subhashis Patanik were present.
