Nothing wrong about detained Russian nationals, say Odisha Police

There is nothing wrong about the two Russian nationals who were detained by the Niali police in Odisha’s Cuttack district on Friday evening, police said today.

RUSSIAN TOURISTS DETAINED

Talking to the media here today, Puri SP Ashis Kumar Singh said the police have found nothing wrong about the two Russian nationals.

He said the two Russians— Vasil Lu Fair and Maratha Galimur—had just completed their Engineering degree and come to India on a three-month tourist visa. During their visit to Puri, the duo was staying inside a tent near the beach.

“The duo had tickets for Kolkata from where they were scheduled to leave for Bangkok. In fact they were on the way to Cuttack and board a train to Kolkata. As they were in a hurry, they had boarded a dumper which collided with a private bus near Niali”, Singh said.

It may be mentioned that the Niali police, after detaining the two Russian nationals last evening, had a interrogated them till late night.

Later, police took them to Puri for further investigation.
