Notification issued for polls to 3 RS seats from Odisha

Bhubaneswar, May 24:

The Election Commission of India (ECI) today issued notification for elections to 57 Rajya Sabha seats from 15 states, including 3 seats from Odisha. Polls to these seats in the House of Elders will be held on June 11.

The three Rajya Sabha seats from Odisha will fall vacant as Pyarimohan Mohapatra, Baishnab Parida and Bhupinder Singh are set to retire on July 1.

As per the poll schedule announced by ECI, the last date of filing nominations is May 31 and scrutiny of nominations will be done on June 1. The last date for withdrawal of candidatures is June 3.

Polling will be held on June 11 from 9 am to 4 pm and counting of votes will take place on the same day at 5 pm.
