Notification issued for Bijepur bypoll in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The official notification for bye-election to the Bijepur Assembly seat in Odisha was issued today by the Election Commission.

As per the notification, the polling will be held on February 24 while the date for counting of votes and announcement of the result has been fixed for February 28.

Similarly, the last date for filing of nominations has been fixed for February 6.

While date for scrutiny of nominations has been kept on February 7, the last date for withdrawal of candidatures has been fixed for February 9.

Notably, the Bijepur Assembly seat had fallen vacant following the death of Congress MLA Subal Sahu on August 22, last year.
