Cuttack, Sep 21:

With relay hunger-strike by some students continuing at the Ravenshaw University, its authorities have warned that if it persisted, a re-look would have to be taken on holding student union elections scheduled early next month.

“The campus is now witnessing student unrest at the drop of a hat and if such a situation prevails, it will be difficult to hold the elections,” Vice-Chancellor Professor BC Tripathy said today when contacted.

He , however, said should normalcy return to the campus, elections would be held as scheduled.

“We want peaceful and normal atmosphere inside the campus before holding the elections,” Professor Tripathy said. Some students are holding relay dharnas in front of the VC’s office for the last few days demanding admission of two students in the post-graduate course.

The authorities have said the demand could not be met as the PG admission had closed and no more seats were available. (PTI)
