Nurse found hanging in AIIMS in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: A woman staff of AIIMS hospital in Odisha capital allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself today.

As per reports, the deceased identified as Beli Kundu was found hanging in her room at around 2 pm.

As usual, her colleagues went for work early in the morning. However, Kundu did not go to work. She allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself with a dupatta inside the staff quarters.

When the staff returned from work and knocked the doors, there was no response from inside raising suspicion in their minds. They informed the police outpost on the hospital campus owing which the cops broke open the door and found the nurse hanging from the ceiling.

Khandagiri police recovered the body and sent it to Capital Hospital for post mortem.

A suicide note was found in the room in which she has blamed her family members for her ending life, sources said.

If sources are to be believed Kundu’s parents had fixed her marriage with a guy from Malda. On the other hand, the woman allegedly was in a relationship with another guy which the family members were opposed to.

The woman hailing from Malda in neighbouring West Bengal had joined as a staff nurse in 2015.

Police have informed the family members of the deceased who will be arriving here tomorrow.

The family members would also be interrogated, sources added.
