Odisha: 18 lakh beneficiaries to get KALIA money in 2nd phase

Bhubaneswar: Total 18 lakh beneficiaries have been shortlisted to receive monetary assistance under State’s most populous KALIA scheme in the second phase.

“More than 13 lakh farmers will be provided money under the scheme in the second phase. Additional five lakh beneficiaries have been identified for livelihood support under the scheme. They will receive Rs 5,000 under Rs 12,500-livelihood support category of the scheme,” informed Finance Minister Sashibhusan Behera here today.

After official implementation of the KALIA scheme during a programme in Puri, the money has been credited to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the DBT process in the first phase. The date and venue for the second phase will be finalised soon, he told reporters.

The error incurred during the first phase programme has been rectified, the minister added.

Notably, the State government transferred Rs 5,000 to 12.45 lakh farmers under KALIA scheme in the first phase. The beneficiaries will receive a total of Rs 25,000 financial assistance in phases.
