Odisha +2 paper re-check work hit as CHSE staff go on indefinite strike

Odisha Sun Times Bureau
Bhubaneswar, Sept 2:

The re-checking of answer sheets of the last Plus Two exams was very badly hit after the staff of the Odisha Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) decided to go on an indefinite strike on Monday.

CHSE LOGOWork in the CHSE office was paralysed on Monday following the cease-work by the members of the CHSC +2 Employees Association for fulfillment of its 15-point charter of demands.

The agitating employees, who staged dharna in front of the office of the chairman on Monday, demanded a CBI probe into the gross irregularities in the printing of question papers and purchase of CCTV cameras while asking for stern action against the guilty officials.

The Association members have now decided to continue their agitation till the CBI probe into the irregularities in the Plus Two examinations is announced and the chairman and the secretaries are transferred.

Though senior CHSE officials requested the employees to withdraw their agitation with an assurance that their demands will be met, the Association employees are in no mood to oblige.

With the Association deciding to go for agitation for an indefinite period, there would be further delay in the issue of copies of the re-checked answer sheets to the Plus Two students, said a senior official of the Council.

It may be mentioned that the Council had earlier announced that it would begin the process of providing copies of the rechecked answer sheets to the Plus Two students from the first week of September.
