Odisha: 7,000 school teachers to be appointed on December 16

Bhubaneswar: As many as 7,000 teachers will be appointed in Odisha on December 16, informed School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash today.

As against the government’s target to fill up 11,000 teacher posts in the first phase, only 7,000 candidates have been able to qualify the exam conducted by the School and Mass Education Department, added the Minister. A total of 4,000 candidates were found ineligible for the reserved posts.

Dash further stated the department is reconsidering the applications of the 4,000 candidates and a decision will be taken in a week.

The government has targeted to fill teacher posts for the schools that have been transformed under the 5T initiative.

“Not only infrastructure development, the government’s aim is to provide quality education at schools,” Dash said.
