Odisha: 8-YO girl among 2 dies, another critical in elephant attack

Baripada: In a tragic incident, two persons, including an eight-year-old girl died in an elephant attack in Tunguru Reserve Forest under Rairangpur Forest Division in Mayurbhanj district.

The incident took place when two women and a minor girl of a family  belonging to Dudhakundi village under Bisoi police limits in the district, had gone into the forest to collect firewood and leafy vegetables. While Meghna Bindhani (8) and Kandiri Murmu (45) died on the spot in the elephant attack, another Dhani Bindhani suffered grievous injuries.

On receiving information, forest officials rushed to the spot for rescue operation.

The injured was rushed to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital (PRMMCH) for treatment.
