Odisha Animal Helpline ‘1962’ launched by CM Naveen Patnaik

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched the State Animal Helpline– 1962– for protection of stray and abandoned animals.

The helpline will be functional 24×7 while citizens can dial the number to report incidents of such animals in need of help.

The toll free helpline will extend veterinary services through animal ambulances in 11 urban areas of the state.

The CM also inaugurated tele veterinary service to assist farmers involved in fisheries and cattle farming. Such farmers can dial 1962 or 155333 to avail the service.

Patnaik also launched fisheries and animal resources mapping system, under which all animal farms in the state will be geo-tagged and displayed on WEB-GIS.
