Odisha announces free uniform for all, bicycle for class IX pupils

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government will now provide free uniforms to all the students in government-funded schools across the state.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, while speaking during a state-level function here on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, informed this.

The schools uniforms were earlier provided free to students under below poverty line (BPL) category. Now, the state government has decided to extend it to above poverty line (APL) category too.

Besides, the Chief Minister announced that bi-cycles will be provided to all Class IX students.

Earlier, bicycles were distributed to only Class-X students.
