Odisha announces incentive for healthcare professionals

Bhubaneswar: Amid fight against COVID-19, the Odisha Government has announced incentive for healthcare professionals working under its Health & Family Welfare Department, official sources said.

The beneficiaries include contractual, outsourced staffers, and volunteers. However, ASHA workers and outsourced staffers in medical colleges have been excluded.

As per the sources, the incentive shall be equivalent to the consolidated basic remuneration of a month excluding allowances or perks or taxes, if any, given to the staff. This is applicable to those contractual/outsourced staffers who worked from 01.03.2020 to 30.06.2020 and have a role in COVID-19 management. It is to be paid after 30.06.2020.

The incentive to staffers working under the schemes such as MHU in PPP mode, Swasthya Sanjog, EmAs, Free Diagnostics, NIRMAL, and Swasthya Sahaya will be met from the respective scheme funds.

The controlling authorities will decide the category of staffers and their number keeping in view their role in COVID-19 management work.
