The Odisha Assembly today was adjourned till 3 PM following the uproar by the Opposition members.
Assembly small size

As soon as the House assembled in the morning, the Opposition Congress members demanded Speaker Niranjan Pujari to reconsider his decision on the discussion of chit fund issue in the House.

But the Speaker, while rejecting their demand, allowed the commencement of question hour session.

Following the directive, Excise and Cooperation minister Damodar Rout read out his reply to a written question. However, his reply was inaudible due to commotion as the Congress members rushed to the well of the House and tried to snatch the papers from the Speaker’s table.

Finding it difficult to run the House, the Speaker announced the adjournment of the House till 3 PM.

The House could run for only three minutes.

With this, the winter session of the House has failed to function in the last 12 days due to pandemonium.
