Odisha BAMS, BHMS aspirants to undergo NEET instead of OJEE

Bhubaneswar: Students seeking admissions into Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) in Odisha will have to undergo National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) instead of Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) from the next academic year.

The State Health and Family Welfare Department has issued a notification asking the Chairman of OJEE to cancel its earlier notice for examinations for admissions into BAMS and BHMS.

The notification has been made as per the direction of Union Ministry of AYUSH, which states that admission into AYUSH under graduate courses shall be compulsory through NEET merit list from 2018-19 academic year.

Earlier, OJEE used to carry out entrance tests for admissions into BAMS and BHMS courses.
