Bhubaneswar, Mar 26:
Having won laurels for his first short film ‘Sanjeeda’, aimed at creating awareness on drugging for robbery in trains, Odisha based IT consultant and film maker Dilshad Ayubi has come out with his second offering ‘French Cut’, an 18-minute film that takes a long, hard look at youngsters who take their relationship for granted.
The film is already a hit on cyberspace having drawn over 4, 000 views since it was posted on YouTube on Valentine’s Day this year. Before the launch on YouTube, the film had been screened at various colleges and corporate offices.
“The plot will justify the title ‘French Cut’. I hope it would persuade youngsters to take their relationships seriously and respect their partners,” Ayubi told OST without revealing much about the plot.
The lead actors – Siddhant Sharma and Sonika Tiwari – were selected through a unique process that involved auditions at various technical institutes in the city followed by a final round of audition with six finalists.
The film was shot at various locations in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
Ayubi’s first film ‘Sanjeeda’, made in collaboration with Railway Protection Force (RPF) and East Coast Railway, was played on LCDs of all major railway stations in India.
