Odisha BJP leaders urge Rajnath to visit flood hit areas in state

In a bid to preempt charges of ‘central neglect’, senior BJP leaders of Odisha today urged Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to visit the flood affected areas in the state and send a central team to assess the damages caused by floods on a priority basis.

with-rajnath-singhThe delegation, which included the two Union Ministers from the state Jual Oram and Dharmendra Pradhan, state Pravari  Arun  Singh, senior party leaders Biswabhusan Harichandan, Surendra Lath, Bijay Mahapatra, Nayan Kishor Mohanty and Prithwiraj Harichandan, met Singh and apprised him of the flood situation in Odisha.

They also requested the Minister to expedite the release of funds to the state government for reconstruction & rehabilitation in the Phailin affected areas of the state.

The delegation also requested the Home minister to provide all necessary support for security and law and order at Puri and the neighbouring region during the Nabakalebara festival to be held in the year 2015.
