Odisha BJP observes 12-hr bandh in Burla over doctors’ transfer

Odisha Sun Times Bureau
Burla, Mar 27:

BJP today observed 12-hour bandh in Burla protesting the doctors’ transfer from Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR).

The BJP workers staged protest demanding withdrawal of mass transfer of doctors.

As the common people in the western Odisha depend on the Burla medical college and hospital, the mass transfer of doctors to different locations including Berhampur, Baripada and Koraput will affect the health service at Burla medical, the BJP alleged.

The protest will be intensified if the transfer order is not withdrawn, the protesters said.

Meanwhile, the junior doctors’ association has also joined the protest.

While there is doctors’ shortage at the medical, the mass transfer of the doctors from the medical college will hit the health service here, the association said.
