“The state is going to get Rs 1,12,672 crores within the next five years and an additional Rs 50 crores for Nabakalebar,” said senior BJP leader Bijoy Mohapatra at a press conference at the BJP state headquarters here today to mark the foundation day of the party.

“The government has already received the first phase grant. The Prime minister had spoken about it on his recent tour to Rourkela in the presence of Odisha Chief Minister. Odisha is going to receive Rs 8, 200 crores more than it got last year. It clearly indicates that the centre wants to help the state government,” said Mohapatra at the press conference, which was also attended by senior BJP leader Biswa Bhusan Harichandan and Party’s state unit president KV Singhdeo.

“The ‘central negligence’ rhetoric of the state government won’t be an issue any longer. They never asked for this money or tried in anyway to get it. Neither did they say anything to the Prime Minister when he recently spoke about the benefits the state is going to receive.  It makes it clear that the state government is happy with the central aid,” he added.

“The way BJP sees it, rather than central negligence, the negligence of the state government towards the state is going to be the issue,” Mohapatra added.
