Odisha-born businessman invites PM Modi to his wedding

Bhubaneswar: Ritesh Agarwal, founder and Group CEO of OYO hotel chain, today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to extend an invitation to his wedding ceremony, scheduled to be held next month.

The 29-year-old businessman shared pictures of his meeting with the Prime Minister in his personal twitter account.

“With the blessings of Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modiji, we are all set for a new beginning. Words cannot express the warmth with which he received us,” said Agarwal in a twitter post.

Agarwal further said his mother, who is inspired by the Prime Minister’s vision for women empowerment, was heartened to meet him.

“My mother, who is inspired by his vision for women empowerment & Geet, from Express (Uttar) Pradesh, was heartened to meet him. Thank you for sparing your valuable time and for your good wishes,” said Agarwal in another twitter post.

Agarwal was born into a Marwari family in Rayagada district of Odisha and later moved to Delhi for his college education.

Agarwal established OYO in 2013. Within the last one decade, OYO has become one of the most successful hospitality companies in India. The company has also expanded to other countries.

At present, OYO operates in around 800 cities of 80 countries and is considered as one of the fastest-growing hotel chains in the world.
