Bhubaneswar: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das has been rated ‘A+’ in the Global Finance’s Central Banker Report Cards 2023.

Das, a native of Odisha and a former IAS officer, has been placed at the top of the list of three central bank governors who was rated ‘A+’ by the Global Finance magazine published from the United States.

The Central Banker Report Cards, published annually by Global Finance since 1994, grade the central bank governors of 101 key countries on a scale from A to F for their success in inflation control, economic growth goals, currency stability and interest rate management.

Grade A represents an excellent performance while grade F signifies outright failure.

Das along with the central bank governors of Switzerland and Vietnam has been rated ‘A+’ by the magazine.

The central bank governors of eight countries—Brazil, Israel, Mauritius, New Zealand, Paraguay, Peru, Taiwan and Uruguay—have been rated ‘A’ by the magazine.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, meanwhile, congratulated Das for being rated A+ by Global Finance magazine.

“Congratulations to RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das. This is a proud moment for India, reflecting our financial leadership on the global stage. His dedication and vision continue to strengthen our nation’s growth trajectory,” said the Prime Minister in a X (twitter) post.
