Odisha-born Sanjeev Mohanty appointed Managing Director of Levi’s for US, Canada

Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: Sanjeev Mohanty was appointed as Levi Strauss & Co.’s Senior Vice President and Managing Director for US and Canada operations.

Mohanty, who hails from Odisha, is currently Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Levi Strauss & Co’s South Asia-Middle East and Africa operations. Levi Strauss & Co is well known for its denim brand Levi’s.

Mohanty, a graduate from NIFT New Delhi, will be the first Indian executive in the fashion sector to be appointed for this global role.

He has worked with Benetton Group as Managing Director of its South Asia operations. Before joining Levi’s in 2016, Mohanty headed online fashion platform Jabong.

“During his tenure with the company, Sanjeev has proven himself to be a dynamic and growth-minded leader. He has strengthened our business and our teams in South Asia, where some of our most important markets are located, to deliver industry-leading results,” said Seth Ellison, executive vice president and chief commercial officer of Levi Strauss & Co.

Levi Strauss & Co’s products are being sold in over 110 countries worldwide. US and Canada are the retailer’s largest and most complex commercial operations cluster.
